The Ultra 250 is Therma-Kleen's entry-level propane steam cleaner, built for jobs where electrical infrastructure isn't an option. Compact at 95 lbs with a 23" × 18" × 32" footprint, it delivers 250 PSI at 350°F from a 130,000 BTU/hr propane burner.

Unlike the electric XL series, which requires 3-phase power, the Ultra 250 runs on propane with just a 115VAC / 6.8A or 220VAC / 3.5A pilot ignition circuit — operable anywhere with propane access and a standard outlet. Water flow adjusts from 0.5 to 1.5 GPM, giving precise control between delicate cleaning and aggressive degreasing.

Propane power is the key differentiator from the electric XL line: no 3-phase infrastructure needed, though runtime is limited by the propane tank rather than continuous-fill. The 250 PSI (17 bar) output is lower than the Ultra 600 but strong enough for grease removal, tile cleaning, conveyor degreasing, and exterior sanitation. Its 350°F max temperature sits 138°F above the thermal sanitization threshold, killing most pathogens without chemical sanitizers.

The burner heats quickly and carries an EPA clean-burning rating for outdoor and semi-enclosed use, with electronic pilot ignition and safety features including a flow switch, pressure relief valve, and high-temperature limit switch. A 25 ft hose comes standard, with a 100 ft option available for larger jobs.

The Ultra 250 is best suited for outdoor locations without 3-phase power — construction sites, agricultural equipment cleaning, food truck sanitation, and outdoor events.

It's also ideal for chemical-sensitive environments like KOSHER kitchens, organic food processing, and pharmaceutical manufacturing, where sanitizer residue is a compliance concern, as well as semi-enclosed spaces like loading docks thanks to its clean-burn rating. For fully enclosed indoor use, confirm adequate ventilation, since propane combustion generates CO2.
